The phone's audio quality is poor during calls and recordings

Some Nexus 5 smartphones out there are reportedly affected by a series of audio issues during calls and recordings, though it appears that symptoms are not consistent across devices.

However, as AndroidPolice notes in a recent article, those who complain of such problems are quite a few. Apparently, the phone’s built-in microphone also records sounds such as hissing, popping, and has very low volume.

The news site also notes that one of the main causes for these problems appears to be the noise canceling software on the smartphone. Apparently, audio recorded without the noise canceling feature does not show similar symptoms.

For the time being, however, no fix for the issue has been found, though covering the second microphone, situated at the top of the device, appears to have worked for some people out there.

Provided that the aforementioned noise canceling software is to blame, Google will certainly release a fix for this, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
