Canadian wireless carrier SaskTel has added yet another appealing smartphone to its offering today, none other than the Nexus 5, the first handset out there to run under Android 4.4 KitKat.

At the moment, the new Google phone is listed at $99.99 (€71) at the mobile operator, but requires the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

Other deals are also available for it, and users can even grab it contract free, for no less than $499.99 (€372). Going for a month-to-month deal would have you paying the same amount for the device.

Nexus 5 arrives on shelves with a 5-inch True HD IPS Plus display, capable of delivering a full HD resolution, and sports a 2.26 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor inside.

Furthermore, the device features 2GB of RAM for increased performance, along with 16GB of internal memory. No memory expansion options have been included in the package.

The specifications list of Nexus 5 also includes an 8-megapixel back camera, with Optical Image Stabilization and capable of recording videos in full HD resolution, as well as a front camera for video calling.

The Android 4.4 KitKat-based device also sports 4G LTE connectivity, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities, NFC, built-in GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors.

“The new phone made to capture the moments that matter. Nexus 5 helps you capture the everyday and the epic in fresh new ways. It's slim, light and fast, packing a stunning 5" display and powered by Android 4.4, KitKat,” SaskTel notes.

Users in Canada interested in the purchase of this smartphone should head over to this page on the wireless carrier’s website to learn more on the available offers for it.

Granted, the price that the carrier asks for the smartphone might not be the lowest out there, but it’s still a better option than waiting for several weeks to receive a Nexus 5 that has been ordered from the Google Play Store.
