Starting today, mobile phone users in Canada interested in the purchase of the Nexus 5 can grab it on the network of wireless carrier WIND Mobile as well.

The handset has just landed at the operator, with a price tag of $99 (€70) attached to it, on the $50 (€35) WINDtab plan, but it can be bought on other deals as well.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the new mobile phone was launched with a 4.95-inch full HD touchscreen display that sports a 445 ppi pixel density and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The smartphone is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, with no microSD memory card slot included in the package.

Unlike last year’s Nexus 4, the new Google smartphone features support for 4G LTE networks, as well as HSPA+ connectivity, in addition to Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth capabilities.

On the back, the handset packs an 8-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization and support for full HD video recording, complemented by a front camera for making video calls.

Nexus 5 is the first smartphone out there to have been launched with the new Android 4.4 KitKat operating system loaded on top, with a wide range of appealing enhancements when compared to Jelly Bean.

“The slimmest and fastest Nexus smartphone ever made, powered by the new Android 4.4, KitKat,” WIND Mobile notes on its website.

“Nexus 5 is everything you need to capture, showcase, and share all that you love with everyone you care about. Live extraordinarily—from one moment to the next. Nexus 5 is made for what matters most.”

The specifications list of Nexus 5 also includes a 2300 mAh battery, built-in GPS receiver, Micro SIM card slot, and a slim body that weighs only 130 grams.
