Before the end of this week, mobile phone users in India will be able to purchase the Nexus 5 smartphone via the Google Play Store, after the device went up for grabs at retailers in the country.

According to a recent report from AndroidOS, 5,000 Nexus 5 units have already reached India and will be put up for pre-order through the official store in the coming days.

The new smartphone will be available through the portal with a price tag of INR 28,999 for the 16GB version. Those interested in the 32GB flavor of the handset will have to pay INR 32,999 for it.

Users in India will be able to opt for either the Black or White color iterations of the device when making the purchase through Google Play.

Nexus 5 was made official in late October as the first Android 4.4-based smartphone, featuring a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and a 5-inch screen.
