What would convince you to buy the new Nexus 5?

Most of us were expecting Google to launch a new Nexus smartphone at its I/O 2015 conference that took place last month, as rumors were abounding online saying the company would introduce not one but two Nexus devices.

But in reality, Google ended up trolling everyone and did not reveal any Nexus device whatsoever. Nevertheless, we still expect the search giant to unveil new phones in this lineup later this year.

Word on the street has it that Huawei will be making a larger Nexus smartphone with a 5.7-inch display meant to cater to the needs of those who want a larger phone, while LG will be in charge or producing a 5.2-inch handset meant for those who don’t need a gigantic device in their life.

The Nexus 5 (2015) is one of the most anticipated phones of this year, and while we wait, hope and pray that LG is hard at work alongside Google to make this device a reality, phone designers have come up with their own contribution to the story.

Would you give this Nexus 5 a chance?

The DBS team has come up with a concept design for LG’s upcoming Nexus device. The handset is imagined with a bezeless design, to follow the latest trend of the industry, which is currently seeing a lot of smartphones being introduced with edge-to-edge displays.

Apart from the visuals (in the form of photographs and a video), we’re also given some insight into what the LG Nexus 5 (2015) might actually pack in terms of hardware.

The concept reveals a smartphone with a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display (although the real phone will probably bundle a 5.2-inch display) and a Snapdragon 820 processor under the hood, in combination with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 1TB).

In the photography department, we find a 20MP main camera with OIS 2.0 (optical image stabilization) and f/1.8 lens, plus a 13MP front camera that should take exquisite selfies.

The new Nexus 5 is also envisioned to have a fingerprint scanner, heart rate sensor, and a USB Type-C connector (Google did promise at I/O 2015 more phones with the new port).

Naturally, Android M is the default operating system this device should ship out with. Last but not least, the phone is kept alive by a decent 4,000 mAh battery.

What do you think? Would you buy such a Nexus 5?
