Google is already working on the next flavor of Nexus, there is no doubt about it, but what exactly the device is all about remains a mystery, and the same applies to its manufacturer.

Rumors on this device already emerged into the wild, apparently confirmed by official sources, but nothing is formally announced for the time being, and nothing can currently be said for sure on this device.

One of the rumors on the next Nexus smartphone suggests that Samsung would be the manufacturer, and what appears to be confirmation of this already emerged into the wild.

In a tweet posted at the end of the last month, Samsung Romania noted that Android 4.0 will arrive on a new Nexus smartphone from the company, and that it would be ready at the end of the ongoing year.

Another tweet from the company noted that this device would come with an HD display. However, Samsung removed the said tweets, and said that the info they posted was not coming from official sources, but was based on rumors.

“The earlier tweet on Nexus smartphone was uploaded by our agency by mistake. It is based on rumor and not officially confirmed from Samsung Romania. We apologize for any misunderstanding and confusion caused in response. Thank you,” the company notes in a recent tweet.

Nexus S, the latest Google phone on the market, came from Samsung, and, since it was a pretty impressive device, enthusiasts already started dreaming of the next such phone, supposedly much more powerful and more appealing than the predecessor.

At the same time, rumors on the launch of a new Nexus smartphone from HTC also started to emerge, some even suggesting that it might include a special Google+ button, just as the HTC ChaCha and Salsa sport a Facebook button.

Nothing was confirmed on this either, and it seems rather unlikely that Google might chose to include such a hardware button on the Nexus, but that does not mean the rumor could not pan out in the end.

We should also note that some of the previous rumors on the future Nexus suggested that Google might plan on making available multiple Nexus smartphones, coming from various leading handset vendors on the airwaves of different carriers.

If so, then both Samsung and HTC are the manufacturers of the next Nexus, and the list would also include LG and Motorola, as well as other vendors. Hopefully, more info on the matter will emerge in the not-too-distant future, so stay tuned.
