I'm pretty sure that no one has heard of NextoDI. However, this particular brand may prove of great importance for some of you since they've just presented the Nexto-Ultra ND2525. I bet you're wondering what it can do so I will jump directly to the technical part.

The product is a hybrid card reader/storage thingie being based on a 2 in 1 idea. And yes, it's portable. The new high capacity storage is capable of backing up 1GB images from your CF card in about 50 seconds thanks to the company's exclusive patented 'X-Copy' technology which stands for fast backup of data. As a result, you can copy between 15MB/s and 20MB/s depending on the card you're using.

I have to say that this backup speed is pretty impressive. It remains impressive even if you compare it with the fastest desktop card readers and flash devices. Speaking of which, if you come across a very high speed stick or CF/SD card, you will notice that they transfer data as fast as 28-30MB/s. So what you get here is a portable storage device that can reach speeds almost 6 times higher than any other comparable product.

In case you were wondering what's inside the box, the device features a 2.5-inch HDD for notebook-use and supports high-volume HDDs (over 128GB, should you need one). We don't actually know how much the battery lasts but the company claims it can give the reader enough energy to backup about 40GB of data. And again, that's pretty impressive too. The company also claims that the device has an "H/W based Data verification" algorithm which comes as default in order to insure data safety.
