Technical specs of some new Apple devices were supposedly leaked from the supply chain

There's no telling whether Apple will release a new iPad along with the iPhone 6. They usually do not have just one event for all their devices, but this year iOS 8 brings the Continuity features and that may motivate the guys in Cupertino to have it done this way.

So far we have seen just one leak related to the next-generation iPad Air – a couple of shots with the back casing of the device. No information on the screen or the features has emerged until now.

A new report coming from Taiwanese blog technews.tw unveils some of the specs of the future Apple device. They say that the first iPad had only 256MB of RAM, the iPad 2 and iPad mini came out with 512MB, but since the iPad 3, the Cupertino tablet only had 1GB of memory. Sources coming from the supply chain say the iPad Air 2 will be the first iOS device with 2GB of RAM. Also, the second generation retina iPad mini will stay with 1GB of memory.

Apple is expected to upgrade its tablet line-up with other features such as a TouchID and the brand new A8 chipset. The iPad may also get a motion co-processor just like the iPhone 5s has got. The Cupertino tech giant is also going to install a higher resolution camera on the device. The report suggests it is going to be an 8MP camera and the device is already in production.

The same tech blog goes into some technical info for the rumored iWatch. They say the device will supposedly get 512MB of memory and the chipset powering it will have an 8GB NAND flash. The cited source believes the iWatch will not need an iPhone or iPad to operate, but rather will have all the necessary sensors and features to work on its own.

Talking about the iWatch, so far there has been no leak or photo of the hardware of this future device. Even the analysts who predicted it would ship in the fall of 2014 have reasons to believe that Apple will not release a smartwatch-like device until 2015.

Apple will most probably announce a new iPhone before mid-September and will release the device in either of the two versions a week later. The iPhone and iPad will come along iOS 8. The new firmware update will significantly improve on iOS 7 features and will have the devices working together with OS X for continuity and handoff features.
