Ubuntu Touch is a stable release, but that doesn't mean that the developers are not working very hard in order to improve it. The next update for the new operating system from Canonical will feature a few important changes.

There are very few developers out there more committed to their software than Canonical. They have been releasing updates for Ubuntu Touch almost on a daily basis and, from time to time, even a few large ones.

The latest release, image 116, has been deemed as the most stable and the most complete, but image 119 promises some interesting things.

The most important is a new Mir stack which will encompass mir, unity-system-compositor, platform-api, and unity-mir.

“This version contains the last month of work with a lot of bug fixes, integration tests enhancement to help bring ups of touch on community devices, and good improvement on the flakyness of some tests. Awesome work!” said Canonical's Didier Roche.

Also, a powered fix is expected to arrive, along with some theming changes for Cordova, some test framework updates, and two ubuntu-system-settings releases.
