14 DAY TRIAL // Nintendo seems to have had a good year in 2014, being one of the few companies making gaming consoles that is actually making a profit. With such a successful lineup of games like Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8, Nintendo is now enjoying even more profitability thanks to the launch of the “amiibo” interactive toy figurines.
Even though Nintendo is doing quite well at the moment, the fact that many game developers avoid bringing major titles to any of the company’ consoles due to low hardware configuration is something that the Japanese console maker is looking to fix.
Obviously, it's a bit too early to talk about Nintendo's next console, but Shigeru Miyamoto unveiled some info during a recent interview which might suggest his company is already working on the Wii U successor.
According to Miyamoto, “while we're busy working on software for the Wii U, we have production lines that are working on ideas for what the next system might be.”
He did not disclose any additional details on the matter, but confirmed that Nintendo is now “focused on providing a robust line-up of Wii U software for next year. It seems like we've managed to do that this year and people are very happy with what we've done on Wii U.”
