Next Level Games have announced that they will be exclusively developing software products for Nintendo consoles in the future.

The Vancouver-based studio has revealed in a recent interview with Gamasutra that they have been developing Nintendo games for almost ten years, and its recent success has cemented their relationship with the Japanese giant.

Next Level Games helped design the Super Mario Strikers for the GameCube, Punch-Out!! on the Wii, and its developments culminated with the Nintendo 3DS title Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, which has sold over 3 million copies worldwide.

"There are a lot of benefits to working with a first party. Nintendo's great. They give you the time to make the games good," said Jason Carr, Next Level Games co-founder.

"They've done really well – the Wii's done really well, the DS has done really well, the Wii U is not the strongest start but we trust that they'll come up with something to get it going, and the 3DS was a blast to work on," he went on to state his confidence in the company's future.
