BioShock 2 is close to its release date but Ken Levine, the man behind the first iteration in the series, is not talking about it, claiming he was not involved in any way in the development process. The well known game creator is more interested in talking about how his team has taken back its original Irrational Games name, after being known for a while as 2K Boston, and about how they are preparing to approach their next, unannounced project.

The leader of Irrational Games told Gamespot that “This is the year we'll start talking about stuff, and we stop hiding behind the iron curtain of secrecy.”

An official announcement related to the new project will be coming after the 2010 Game Developers Conference, so be on the lookout for more Irrational news after March 13. Levine would not be coaxed into talking about whether an initial look at the game might happen at the E3 trade expo, which is set to begin in June.

There was some speculation that a new Spec Ops title was being worked on by his team but Ken Levine said that “I honestly don't know anything about that game. I like the trailer” when talking about the recently announced The Line. There has also been a lot of talk about Irrational Games working on a revival of the classic X-COM franchise but there has been no official comment delivered related to these rumors.

What Levine is ready to talk about is the fact that Irrational will be growing in the coming period in order to be able to complete its new project and about the fact that quality will be a major concern for the team as all their earlier releases received good marks from reviewers and they are keen on keeping up the standards for their next endeavors.
