If not unveiled at MWC

One of the most important announcements the Redmond-based software giant Microsoft is expected to make during the following two months is related to the launch of its next-generation Windows Mobile 7 platform. There have been a lot of rumors regarding when / where / how the upcoming platform will be released, and the general consensus is that the company should make the unveiling at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain next month.

However, things are still shrouded in mystery, as Microsoft is mum when it comes to the new flavor of its operating system, and all is in the end only a big guessing, especially since there are also some suggesting that Windows Mobile 7 might have been delayed to the next year. But something is still cooking there in Microsoft's labs, that's for sure, and, if MWC won't be the place, then perhaps MIX10, Microsoft's tech conference that will take place between March 15-17 in Las Vegas will bring some more details on the matter.

“Yes, at MIX10 you’ll learn about developing applications and games for the next generation of Windows Phone. Yes, we’ll have Phone sessions, and we can’t say more…yet. Stay tuned and check back often or join the MIX mailing list,” a recent post on the MIX10 website notes. One thing that it certain here is that Microsoft does intend to unveil more details on its plans for the mobile segment, and, if it won't do so at MWC, though we all expect it to, it will certainly put it all on the table at MIX10.

According to WMPoweruser, Microsoft is set to unveil the Windows Mobile 7 operating system to developers at the event in March. With the great deal of rumors on what the next-generation operating system from Microsoft will include and what won't include, there are not too many things that can be said here. Except maybe that we're all pretty interested in what the Windows Mobile 7 is all about, for it might either turn to be the boost the platform needed on the market, or it might just sign its death certificate. Stay tuned for more.
