Toshiba has been quite inactive in terms of tablet products recently, but yesterday it was revealed that the company might be striving towards bringing out a 10-inch Encore iteration, a larger brother of the Toshiba Encore 8.

Now it appears the device maker is looking to roll out an updated version of the 8-incher it launched back in 2013.

The Toshiba WT8-B has just been spotted clearing the FCC and considering the WT8-A32 is the Encore 8, you can see why the new 8-incher will most likely pertain to the Encore family of devices.

The Encore 8 WT8-A32 arrived with an 8-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z3740 processor fitted with 2GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics.   The slate also bundled two cameras (8MP on the back and 2MP up in front), microHDMI, microUSB 2.0 and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi.

With the new Encore 8, Toshiba my bump things up in the resolution department, by offering a full HD display with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. Furthermore, the company might slip under the hood a newer Bay Trail chip and maybe offer more than just 2GB of RAM.

Of course this is just pure speculation at this point, but as more details are going to be made available, I’ll come back to the story to give you an update.
