Oskari Hakkinen, the leader of franchise development at developer Remedy, believes that the next generation of home consoles is a huge improvement when it is compared to the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii.

Speaking to the German edition of GamesIndustry, he says that, “Currently we are working – like always – with a relatively small team on a next-gen project. One question you always ask yourself in this phase is: can the upcoming consoles really be so much better compared to the current gen?”

He adds, “I can rest assure you, they are! It’s a quantum leap.”

Remedy is based on Finland and is best known for working on the first two titles in the Max Payne series and has since also been involved with Microsoft on the creation of Alan Wake.

Oskari Hakkinen would not reveal what kind of project Remedy was working on, but it probably is a new intellectual property.
