It appears that Indian customers are going to get the next-gen Nexus 7 tablet sooner than later. Industry sources cited by Readability have confirmed that Google is currently testing the machine with Indian apps and content. The slate is expected to drop sometime in November.

The same sources state what the rumor mill has been saying for a while now. The new Nexus 7 will not be manufactured by Asus, as we have seen happen with the current version. Instead, the company is said to be relying on its own means to produce the slate.

The tablet is expected to be spotted in Google partner stores AndroidLand located in Noida (near Delhi) and Bangaluru. In the meantime, Google has officially confirmed that the new Nexus will become available in India.

To prepare for the launch of the upcoming slate, major retailers in India have dropped prices for the current Nexus model significantly. The 16GB Wi-Fi version is currently available for purchase for Rs 9,999 / $162 / €120.
