The new slate might be produced by LG, Samsung or ASUS

Just last week, we reported that some Android watchers were expecting the much-hyped next-gen Nexus 10 tablet to show up during Cyber Monday, but that obviously didn't happen.

The current model of the Nexus 10 has been removed from the Google Play Store and the search giant has already confirmed it does not plan to re-stock the device. So everybody assumed this was a clear indication that Google is gearing up to release the next Nexus 10, but could it be the company wants to forget about the 10-inch slate altogether?

Now a German user has rekindled hope for Nexus 10 2 supporters by saying on Reddit that as he was browsing Amazon.de he stumbled upon a bunch screen protectors for the 2013 version of the Nexus 2013 Edition.

The product is scheduled to become available for purchase on December 20. So is this the date around which we’re going to see the next-gen Nexus 10 arrive?

There has been so much mystery and contradictory information about the Nexus 10 appearing in the press, as of late, that we don’t know what to believe anymore. We’ll probably just have to wait until the end of the month and see.
