Asus has just unveiled its latest slates, an 8-inch model and a 10-inch one, but it appears the company is not yet ready to retire from the budget tablet market this year.

According to information provided by Notebook Italia, the PC vendor is gearing up to produce a next-gen MeMO Pad HD 7. The revamped slate goes by model number ME175KG and will come packing a better 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8226 processor.

In the resolution department, Asus will keep things the way they are, with the new 7-inch MeMo Pad featuring the same 1280 x 800 as we have seen with the previous model. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will be the default operating system on board.

But the most important novelty is that Asus is going to add a dual SIM support to the slate, which will add calling capabilities to the device.

The MeMO Pad 7 is expected to show up on the Chinese market at first. No information about the international launch has been provided.
