Apple has advanced the development of its (rumored) next-generation iTV to the stage where technicians refer to it using a codename, people privy to iOS 5.1 have said.

The beta software holds key indications that a new Apple TV is on its way from the Cupertino, California tech giant, according to hacker iH8Sn0w who relayed the findings to a Mac-centric blog.

It is not 100% clear whether J33 is a set-top box like the current Apple TV or whether it’s a full-fledged solution with a big a** screen. However, Apple is heavily rumored to be working on the latter.

Many analysts agree that Apple’s complete iTV solution is not far off. The company is also rumored to plan the replacement of traditional remote controlling with Siri, the personal assistant applications currently featured exclusively in the iPhone 4S.
