Bungie confirms a few possible features that will be included in the next update for Destiny, hinting at balance tweaks to keep things as even as possible, but also new voice chat features in some specific conditions.

Destiny finally launched last month, and while there are millions of fans who enjoy the multiplayer-only first-person shooter, many are still quite upset with the state of the game, whether it's the poor story, the repetitive gameplay, or the actual content.

Developer Bungie, however, enjoys all the feedback and has already rolled out quite a few patches for Destiny to transform it into something that's more appealing to fans.

The next update should debut soon

The next big patch should appear in the near future, possibly even later this week, at least according to the special weekly blog update from the studio.

In it, Community Manager David Dague confirms that fans are going to be thrilled with the upcoming patch and that it might include quite a few balance tweaks, so that there's a level playing field without classes or weapons being too powerful in comparison to others.

"I’m pretty excited about the next game update. I think you will be, too. We’re working up an explanation of what we’ll be changing. You’ll know what I know real soon. Some of you will laugh. Some of you will cry. Some of you will howl at the moon. Some of you will rejoice. We'll always look to strike a balance," he says.

Voice chat might finally be introduced in some situations

Dague also adds that Bungie is working on adding actual voice chat options to Destiny, so that players can talk to each other.

Despite it being a multiplayer experience, the actual players have very few methods through which they can interact with other humans they meet in their adventures. Voice chat was dismissed due to the potential for abuse, but it seems that in some conditions, like fire teams, it might be implemented.

"I’ve sat in on the discussions," Dague says about the plans for voice chat. "We take your wish lists and we sort them based on what we can accomplish. I hear chatter about voice options. I even hear rumors about matchmade teammates being able to talk to each other. Someday, we’ll have this conversation again. That day will come next week, even."

As such, Destiny players should expect to hear more about the new features and changes coming to the shooter in the following days.
