Bungie has offered some more details about the next Iron Banner event for its recently released Destiny first-person shooter, confirming that players will have to complete new and much more appealing bounties in order to score better armor and weapons than those seen in the first installment of the challenge.

Destiny launched at the beginning of September, and seeing as how its reception was mixed, developer Bungie quickly started rolling out different themed events for the multiplayer-only first-person shooter, ranging from special playlists dedicated to specific game types to other such things.

Among the most anticipated events was the Iron Banner, a special challenge for the competitive Crucible mode, which turned on the level advantage setting. This in turn was supposed to make high-level players feel quite powerful while going against lower-level ones, but the actual results weren't that impressive, at least for the veterans, who began complaining to Bungie.

The studio confirms that it's heard the feedback and now reveals in the latest weekly blog post that special changes are coming to the next edition of the Iron Banner.

Bounties have been reworked and are less demanding

One of the big changes for the next Iron Banner refers to the bounties available during the event. According to Bungie, the first edition ones were a bit too demanding and even went up one against the other in terms of objectives. As such, they have been tweaked and are now available via Lord Saladin in the Tower.

"The goal of Bounties in the Iron Banner is to push players to prove themselves in new ways, while also ensuring that straight-up combat was always valuable to move you towards a higher rank. But some of the Bounties required too much, and were mutually exclusive in a way that made this worse. In the next Iron Banner, several of these Bounties have been tuned down quite a bit, and overall the value of Bounties has been bumped up," Bungie explains.

Better armor and weapons are also coming as rewards

What's more, players will have more incentives to engage in the Iron Banner, as the actual rewards, in the form of armor and weapons, are getting upgraded in terms of level and stats, so that they're appealing even to veterans.

"In the next Iron Banner, new exclusive reward Armor will be bumped to Level 30, but will still only be available in two slots. For advanced players, this will make them viable functional or visual sidegrades. In the next Iron Banner, the weapon types available will go from two to four, divided between drops on match victory, and purchase from Lord Saladin in the Tower," the studio adds.

As of yet, however, Bungie hasn't offered a start date for the next Iron Banner event in Destiny, so expect to hear more soon enough.
