Microsoft has officially confirmed that it's coming back to the Gamescom conference this year, as it will show off the "next chapter of Xbox gaming experiences" at the Gamescom 2013 event in Cologne, Germany, this August.

Gamescom is one of the biggest gaming conferences in the world, but Microsoft decided to skip the event last year in order to focus on other things.

This year, ahead of the May 21 presentation of the next-generation Xbox (aka Durango or Xbox 720), Microsoft is coming back to Cologne.

The company's Social Marketing Manager, Graeme Boyd, has confirmed on Twitter that the large corporation is set to present at Gamescom 2013 the "next chapter of Xbox gaming experiences."

No other details were offered but you can expect Microsoft to allow visitors to try out its next-gen Xbox 720 at the event and show off lots of things it won't get a chance to detail at its May 21 event or at E3 2013.
