Rumors about the coming Battlefield title that is under development at Visceral Games keep appearing and there’s now further proof that the title will be using a SWAT theme even if the official name might be different.

A code leak associated with the most recent Battlelog update that fans at Getbblog have managed to interpret suggests that the internal ID of the project is 8912 and that the acronym used inside the system is BFH.

Some fans have suggested that the name will be Havana, but that does not make sense given the SWAT theme and it seems that the developers are talking about the new Battlefield experience as Omaha.

The code suggests that the title will be launched on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PC and current-gen devices and that it will use the already existing Battlelog infrastructure in new ways.

At the same time, they are suggesting that the included game modes will be: Heist, Blood Money, Turf War with two versions and Team Deathmatch.

The first mode will be different enough from what gamers have already experienced that it will require a special tutorial video.

The factions that are part of the new Battlefield seem to be: SWAT, thieves and two organizations called LW and CR.

Publisher Electronic Arts has not commented on the code leak and the official position is that information on the future of the franchise will only be offered when the company is ready.

Previous rumors coming from an inside source have said that developer Visceral Games and another smaller team are at the moment working on a Battlefield experience called SWAT that will be launched this year in order to compete with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The title will use the same core first-person shooter mechanics as the rest of the series, but will apparently deliver smaller maps that encourage constant firefights and more spectacular moments.

It’s unclear whether a SWAT-themed experience will appeal to long-term fans of the franchise, who have been asking for DICE to create a new entry in the Bad Company continuity.

Electronic Arts claims that the prospects of the series are not affected by the problems that Battlefield 4 had last year when it launched.

At the moment, the DICE shooter is in good shape and a Los Angeles based team is working on two new downloadable content packs that will be delivered over the summer.
