Newspaper Apologizes to Britney Spears

In an almost unprecedented move, a newspaper apologized to a star about a story. Actually, it wasn't at all a voluntary action, as Brit and hubby K-Fed hired some top-notch lawyer and took the 'Enquirer' to court.

A while ago, the newspaper published two articles in consecutive issues, titled 'Britney Marriage Is Over!' and 'Britney and Kevin: And Now Their Divorce', based on unnamed sources and claiming that the marriage between the two was steps away from separation.

Following their lead, other newspapers and tabloids took up the story and, in case you didn't know, that's how the whole scandal began.

It wasn't Kevin's outrageous behavior and Britney's desperate actions the leads that made people believe that 'something is rotten in the state of Denmark'. No way! It was a story published in a newspaper...

The 'National Enquirer' says in the apologizing note: 'Contrary to what our articles might have suggested, we now accept that their marriage is not over and they are not getting divorced. These allegations are untrue and we now accept Britney's position that the statements are without foundation. We apologize for any distress caused'.

And, to prove us all wrong (again!), rumor has it that Britney and Kevin are thinking (besides taking up their 'Chaotic' reality show again) to renew their wedding vows. Have they never heard of trying too hard or the story about that boy who cried 'wolf' too many times?
