Now, if seeing the Princess of Pop making two babies in a row with a man who, at the time, we considered not even good enough to clean her shoes, was not enough to make you go all "Doh!", and if you still are not convinced that the Spears women are fighting a constant and never-ending battle with contraceptives (yes, I am talking about all those Brit-related pregnancy rumors and her own words on safe sex), here's something to make your day: Britney's 16-year-old sister, Jamie Lynn Spears is 12 weeks pregnant with her long time and live-in boyfriend, some 19-year-old dude named Casey Aldridge. And not only is she keeping the child but she's also already pimping it out in the magazines.
We're (meaning, I am) not going to go into details and say what a bad idea having a baby at such an early age can be - because it's not my place to do that and, if Lynn decides that's what suits her best, then so be it. But I find two things too amazing to keep them to myself: first of all, what is wrong with using condoms or the pill? Do Brit Brit and her female relatives believe they're harmful to one's health? Or, I don't know, to their sexiness level? And, second of all, if Lynn is pregnant (and she is) and she wants privacy to get back to her normal life, then why did she go and sell the story to the newspapers herself? Well, color me confused, but me thinks that Lynn, aside from sharing the joy she must be doubtless experiencing, is also trying to collect some cold hard cash.
"As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn't tell anybody. Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone's opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.", the underage aspiring singer/television personality tells "OK!" magazine in the six-page interview featured in this month's issue.
And, on the other side, we have her mother (the same one who mocked the photographers and laughed in their faces when another rumor of this type surfaced last summer, and who said Lynn is a "child" who would never do such a thoughtless thing as to get pregnant at her age), who is also helping her in the pimping. She says, in the same lengthy interview, that at first she couldn't believe what she was hearing but, after a week or so, she became as supportive as she is now. "I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.", the Spears momma adds.
And you know what's the best part of all of this? Britney had absolutely NO CLUE about her sis having a little bum in the oven. Just a few hours ago, the paps caught up with the wreckalicious diva (as they always do!) and queried her about her feelings on the whole "I'm 16 and pregnant" deal. Her response was "she is not pregnant" and then she gave "the look" to the cameras. Honey, that's not going to change anything...
