Three third-party Mac applications have been updated this week. Their respective developers have addressed issues found in recent builds (for Cockpit and VueScan), as well as added new features and enhancements (in the case of TrailRunner).

Cockpit, the Mac program whose developer teamed up with MacBuzzer to offer free copies to users worldwide, has reached version 1.0.2. The new release fixes a single issue where active controls could not be deleted. Cockpit is a flexible, multi-application controller and automation center living in your Mac’s menubar. Its makers, green & slimy, have designed it to be freely extendable with Cockpit Controls. Cockpit also integrates Automator.

TrailRunner version 3.1v526 brings more than just bug fixes to fans of the route-planning application from Berbie. The new release adds support to send routes from TrailRunner to Trails 4.0 for iPhone. Berbie encourages users to follow Trails on Twitter to get more information on when Trails will be available in the AppStore. Another improvement has been made with Polar HRM Import for calories and weight. A couple of fixed issues are listed as well. Referring to older versions of TrailRunner, Berbie says that, “Even if the track network was set to be invisible, elements could be selected and moved.” Some stability problems from error reports have also been addressed, the developer claims.

Another newly updated Mac app that brings only fixes is VueScan 8.6.30. Hamrick Software, the company behind the program, fixed a problem with infrared cleaning on some Canon scanners, as well as an issue with some Canon LiDE scanners on Mac OS X. VueScan, as Softpedia readers should know, is also available for Windows and Linux. Continuing to list changes specific to this version, Hamrick Software claims that the default button is the 'Scan' button in more cases. Finally, a fixed problem with some Avision and HP document feeders is also mentioned in the changelog. Grab the latest version of VueScan using the download link below.
