Cherry Corp. is quite well known on the gaming front because pretty much every high-end gaming keyboard uses its switches for the keys. So it's not a shock to see Cherry use the proceeds from all the sales to invent new switches.

Said new switches, called Cherry MX RGB, have been demonstrated for the first time at CES 2014.

Corsair did it, using a keyboard based on a Vengeance K70.

Each key can be individually set to one of 16.8 million colors, which are the known combinations of red, green and blue in different quantities.

Corsair will release the final keyboard later this year, in three versions: super-fast Cherry MX Red, of Cherry MX Brow for light tactile feedback, and Cherry MX Blue for tactile and audible feedback.

All of them will have the per-key backlight support.
