Officially launched at the beginning of the year, Gigabyte's G1-Killer series of motherboards is now widely available from various online as well as brick and mortar retailers, so Newegg decided to sway some of the interested buyers their way as it has just included the boards in one of their promotional bundle deals.

Customers who want to purchase such a motherboard from Newegg have now the opportunity to pair it with an Intel Core i7 LGA 1366 processor and get the two items for a discounted price.

The promotion covers all the G1-Killer series motherboards launched by Gigabayte, the Gi.Assassin, G1.Sniper and G1.Guerilla, as well as three Intel processors, the Core i7 950, Core i7 960 and Core i7 970.

The first two of these are based on the Bloomfield architecture and pack four processing cores as well as 8MB of shared Level 3 cache memory, while the latter is built on the Gulftown architecture and packs six processing cores and 12MB of L3 cache.

Users can pair any of these three CPUs with a G1-Killer motherboard and can save between $40 and $65 US, depending on which bundle they choose.

All the G1-Killer series motherboards are powered by Intel's X58 chipset and feature tri-channel memory support as well as various other gaming-oriented features.

Of these, it's worth mentioning the embedded Bigfoot Networks Killer E2100 network interface controller, that promises to deliver lower latency online gaming, and the Sound Blaster X-Fi integrated audio.

The Creative solution was paired with high-end Nichicon audio capacitors and supports the X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity and EAX Advanced HD 5.0 technologies.

In addition, the motherboards are also compatible with AMD's CrossFireX and Nvidia's SLI multi-GPU technologies and the G1.Assassin can pair together up to 3 Nvidia graphics cards or four AMD GPUs. (via Gigabyte Tech Daily)
