Newbay software, a leading provider of mobile multimedia and social networking solutions has announced that its UGC Gateway now supports interaction with Bebo, one of the world's largest social networks. The UGC Gateway enables mobile operators to connect to multiple third party sites, like Bebo, including viewing wap pages or sending text alerts to users' devices. It manages the integration with third-party sites and routes multimedia content onto the requested blog service.

"Our support of Bebo in our UGC Gateway demonstrates our commitment to provide mobile operators with complete solutions to enable mobile multimedia lifestyles and monetize user generated content. Bebo is one of the top online social networking services and one of the services operators wish to offer their mobile subscribers. NewBay's UGC Gateway expands the range of blogs, albums and online sites mobile subscribers can interact with, making mobile social networking mainstream today. We are very excited to be able to include Bebo in our list of options," said Dr Nagappan Arunachalam, Chief Marketing Officer at NewBay Software.

Very much like other social networking sites, Bebo enables its members to stay in touch with their friends, make new ones, share photos or discover new interests. Mobile Beboers will be able to do most of that stuff, including uploading images, text, browsing profiles or receiving text alerts directly on their mobile phone. Orange UK has also announced that it will be the first to partner with Bebo, allowing its customers to use Bebo on their mobile phones.

"Bebo users live their lives online and want to be able to take that experience with them wherever they go. The addition of Bebo to NewBay's UGC Gateway makes access to Bebo simple and seamless for our users world-wide," commented Joanna Shields, President of International at Bebo.
