The rumors were true. Apple released new Retina MacBook Pro laptops today. The new computers appeared on the online Apple Store just a few minutes ago and they are available to ship within 24 hours.

The new models look the same as the old ones, so the big difference is internal. The 15-inch models, for example, benefit from a speed bump. The default RAM is now 16GB 1600MHz. The low-end model features a 2.2GHZ quad-core Intel Core i7 that can be turbo boosted up to 3.4GHz and also sports a 256GB PCIe-based flash storage and Intel Iris Pro Graphics card. This model can be yours for as low as $1,999 (€1,487).

The low-end Retina MacBook Pro can be upgraded to a 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 or the 2.8GHz CPU. You also have the option of adding a 512GB SSD or the 1TB one.

The high-end Retina MacBook Pro comes with a price tag of $2,499 (€1,859) and sports a 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB of SDRAM, 512GB SSD, Intel Iris Pro Graphics card along with another NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics with 2GB of GDDR5 memory. This model can be upgraded to a 2.8GHz CPU turbo-boostable up to 4.0GHz and a 1TB PCIe-based Flash Storage.

The 13-inch models of MacBook Pro with Retina display come in three different versions with a boost in RAM.

The lowest one is a $1,299 (€966) computer that has a 2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 CPU with turbo boost speed of up to 3.1GHz. It sports an 8GB 1600 MHz RAM and an SSD of 128GB, complete with an Intel Iris Graphics Card.

The $1,499 (€1,115.14) model has the same CPU as the previous one, but the SSD is a 256GB one. The high-end 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro sports a 2.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 CPU, the same 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. This one has a price tag of $1,799 (€1,338).

When it comes to MacBook Pro, the cheapest computer in the Apple Store is the 13-inch non-Retina model that starts at $1,099 (€817). It has not been updated, so it features the same 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 CPU with Turbo boost speeds of up to 3.1GHz. It sports a 4GB 1600 MHz memory and Intel HD 4000 graphics card. Note that this model has a spacious but spinning disk drive – 500GB at 5,400 rpm.
