Redmond-based software giant Microsoft announced roughly two months ago the launch of the first mobile phones powered by the latest flavor of its operating system, Windows Mobile 6.5, as well as new services for these handsets, such as the Windows Marketplace for Mobile. During these months, we've seen a wide range of applications added to the software portal, as well as new devices that came to the market running under the company's platform.

As many of you might already know, Microsoft also put in place a website where users can get info on the latest handsets that are available for them, as well as on the new software solutions that have been developed for their devices. The said website displayed back in October some of the popular Windows phones that arrived on the market at that time, such as HTC Imagio, HTC PURE, HTC Tilt 2 or Samsung Intrepid, and now shows a more extensive list of handsets.

Among the new phones listed there, we can count a series that came from Acer, which includes the Acer beTouch E100, Acer beTouch E200 and Acer beTouchE101, all of which can be bought from Expansys USA. At the same time, the list includes some recently released phones, including the HP iPAQ Glisten from AT&T and the Samsung Omnia II from Verizon, and we should also list the 1GHz Snapdragon-powered LG eXpo, which was announced by AT&T.

The Marketplace added new applications as well, and most of you might already know that you can purchase software solutions directly from your home computer, as well as for handsets running under the 6.0 and 6.1 flavors of the Windows Mobile platform. We've already seen a new Bing Mobile solution released for Windows phones, as well as a Microsoft My Phone app, but there's even more of them available via the software portal. You can check on them either by heading to the storefront from your Windows phone, or by accessing it from your home computer.

Here are some of  the latest apps available from the Windows Marketplace for Mobile:
- Cellfire Grocery Coupons: Delivering coupons from your favorite brands, allowing you to save money on every trip to the grocery store.
- PocketNutritionist: With an easy-to-use calorie tracker to help you achieve your fitness goals.
- Scrub: A great communication app to fill in missing contact information for your friends and family.
- TrafficEdge: Giving you easy to understand traffic camera images and traffic maps in real time so you can steer clear of tough traffic spots.
- View2ski: Watch live cameras from your favorite ski resorts worldwide, anywhere you are, from your Windows phone.
