Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White says the iPhone mini is “imminent”

Brian White, who works with Topeka Capital Markets, has been speaking to his sources in Asia (where Apple’s supply chain is) and he is now convinced the company has prepared an iPhone “mini” for us.

The device will supposedly be available in July, which doesn’t bode well with any of the rumors making the rounds today, and certainly doesn’t support Tim Cook’s comments regarding Apple’s focus on the fall period for hardware announcements in 2013.

Nonetheless, White has the following tidbits to share with his investors in a new research note obtained by BGR:

“Regarding Apple, we uncovered more data points around the ‘iPhone mini’ (i.e., lower priced iPhone) that suggest a launch is imminent and possibly in July. We spotted an ‘iPhone mini’ accessory at today’s show. Essentially, the ‘iPhone mini’ body is slightly thicker than the iPhone 5 and the four corners have a more tapered rounding, the edges are less defined but the length is identical (including a four-inch display).”

He says it’s made of “plastic” it’ll cost around $400 before taxes and subsidies. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t be caught dead spending that amount on a thicker iPhone made of plastic.

The phone is also expected to ship in five colors, White said, including black, pink, blue, yellow and white.
