How is it going to look like?

There are so many rumors about the iPod, that you get to think you've heard them all?but only until somebody new says the iPhone is going to look like a potato, fly or work without batterie and it's going to use 25ml of Pepsi per hour. Well, I didn't hear something that crazy yet, but there's enough time until the launch. Still, let's leave the funnies comments behind and move on to some serious statements that were heard recently?

"In an extensive research note released to clients earlier this week, Prudential analyst Jesse Tortora said the first and slimmer of Apple's initial two cell phone models will look like an iPod with a small screen and a click wheel interface.", wrote yesterday Apple Insider's Slash Lane.

Jesse Tortora also reminded that Apple has mentioned more than just once the fact that the music experience offered by the iPhone has a top priority, so those who expect a phone with music playing capabilities may be a little disappointed. The reason is obvious - Apple aims to release a music player with phone capabilities in a world where most of the existing phones have a built-in music player, and a camera, but they are not great music players or digital cameras.

The future "slim music phone", will pack camera functionality and will be GSM/GPRS compatible, according to Tortora. Obviously, having all these features will have a negative impact on the battery's life, but Apple seems to be working to solve this problem.

While the work on a smart phone with a larger OLED display and a sliding keyboard has already begun, the iPhone is expected to be available for sale late in the first quarter of 2007 or early in the second one, and the production of a widescreen iPod is also expected to take off in the first quarter of the next year.

The future looks good for Apple and leaves a lot of place for rumors, and I can assure you it's going to be a pleasure to keep you in touch.
