www.openanyphone.com simply presents users with a payment screen

Just a quick warning to all iOS device holders eagerly anticipating a jailbreak. There’s a new scam doing the rounds that you should be wary of. Keep your eyes peeled to the real jailbreak dev teams and hold off any purchases until the free hacks are released.

A new headline is popping up in Google’s jailbreak news indexing – “iOS 6 untethered Jailbreak/Unlock iPhone 5/4/4S,3GS Software Easy and Safe Solution Released,” directing users to www.openanyphone.com.

The site doesn’t even bother to advertise the so-called hack with any type of graphics or tantalizing offers (like free apps and wallpapers). Instead, it simply presents the user with a payment process that aims to scoop up $34.71 (€26.2).

The payment screen may seem legit, but the service itself is almost 100% a fake. The genuine jailbreak solutions are always free of charge.

While the real hackers developing these hacks may accept donations, they’ll never reach into your pocket before letting you try out their jailbreaks.

Don’t let the so-called press release fool you either.

“The Jailbreak iPhone 5/4S/4/3gs team state that this unlock solution is the easiest, safest and most reliable iPhone jailbreak/unlock software on the market and after running the software on multiple models of iPhone this statement has proven to be fact,” it reads.

“The Jailbreak/ Unlock iPhone 5/4S/4/3gs ios 6 and 5.1 untethered software comes with a full 30 day money back guarantee, lifetime updates and most important of all, lifetime support.”

“If one should require first class service at an affordable price, there is only one simple choice that has to be made,” it adds.

While the offer may sound attractive, you should always be cautious about services that ask you to pay for what is essentially an empty promise.
