Apple starts to take back control of iPad shipments

Checks with Apple’s US and UK online stores (and several others) are showing 1-2 weeks delivery estimates for the new iPad - a one-week jump from the previous 2-3 weeks forecast immediately following the tablet’s launch.

Apple seems to be getting a handle of new iPad shipments already, despite heavy demand that caused the shipping of some orders to be pushed back by as much as three weeks.

The scenario is not new. In fact, this is generally the case with every new iDevice Apple rolls out. However, Apple seems to be moving a lot more faster to fulfill orders this time around.

For some customers however, 1-2 weeks is still a long wait. Which is why some customers (especially those living in the US) should pay their local Apple store or reseller a visit.
