14 DAY TRIAL // A giant new iPad is said to be coming out of Apple this year, and the leaks keeping coming in. Mainly consisting of third-party cases or factory molds, these leaks are starting to paint an ever-so-clear picture of the device.
No one knows for sure when Apple plans to deploy this device into the marketplace, but the leaks have been abundant over the past few months, meaning that the schematics are in the hands of at least one or two case makers.
Protective cover would confirm rumored specs
A new case leak brought into light by Nowhereelse.fr seems to confirm all the hardware specifications of the Pro tablet: the camera array now includes the mic, the top and bottom will have more speaker grills (for an extra two speakers in addition to the existing two), while the sheer size of the unit is on par with all the chatter regarding a 12.2 - 12.9-inch display.
The veracity of the cases shown in the photos cannot be verified, but there’s no reason to suspect that someone went out of their way to create just another identical leak. Plus, the images look quite legitimate, even though the cases seem rather ugly. Anyone interested in buying the iPad Pro would probably spare no expenses in the accessory department either.
Expected to be geared towards professionals, the big iPad Pro will probably come pre-installed with enterprise apps (such as those found in the IBM MobileFirst suite) and perhaps even drawing software, for artists. A stylus is expected to be pushed alongside the tablet, according to recent rumors.
Estimated launch window, pricing
The iPad Pro could roll out anytime between spring (alongside the Apple Watch) to fall (sharing the stage with the iPhone 6S). Since the leaks are abundant, we have every reason to believe it will launch in the first half of the year.
The tablet will almost certainly sell for at least an extra $100 / $100 (compared to the iPad Air), while the rumored stylus will be sold separately as well, most likely.
