It’s actually simpler now to put a folder within another folder

Nested folders became a thing of the past with the release of iOS 7.1 on March 10, but as one user has discovered, there is actually a new bug in the firmware that again allows users to place a folder within another folder.

In case you haven’t connected the dots already, yes, nested folders is something Apple doesn’t want on its mobile operating system and, therefore doesn’t allow it. But users have discovered bugs that allow the creation of such folders. While iOS 7.1 appeared to have fixed those bugs, a new one has just emerged courtesy of one curious user.

Embedded above is a short video that demonstrates the feat. Basically all you have to do is overlap two apps to start creating a folder and then quickly grab an existing folder from your Home screen before the image zooms in. It’s much easier than it sounds in writing, so go ahead and hit the play button. You’ll be very impressed.

So for those of you who rely on nested folders to keep your Home screen clutter-free, now there’s an easy solution that beats even iOS 7.1. Don’t get too attached to it, though. You can be sure Apple is going to fix it in the next firmware update, now that the word is out.
