Rachel Cambra of Mililani, Hawaii, and her son were surprised when, on Christmas morning, upon opening the present, instead of an iPod, inside the iPod case they found a piece of mysterious meat.

"He went from joy, really happy joyful," she said, "then to discover this, just angry and hurt," describing the reaction of her son. Without a doubt the youngster had quite an unpleasant surprise.

The box did not show any signs of tampering with when she brought it home from the Honolulu Wal-Mart where she works and, indeed, Dan Fogleman, a spokesman for Wal-Mart, said it did appear that the package was sealed and has contacted Apple about the matter.

"I know what I went through to get this for him," said an incensed Cambra. "To open up and find this? I don't know what to say." Fortunately for he son, Dan Fogleman said Cambra will be given a new iPod for her son from the very next shipment the store receives.

None from Apple was available for comments, but it seems unlikely that the Cupertino company is surprising the end consumer with new 'iMeat'.
