The embeddable player interface modified again

YouTube quietly introduced a new interface for the embeddable videos published on its page which is pretty different from the one used before. As you can see in the photo attached to the article, the embedded videos are now silver with bigger icons and a time counter which shows the length of the video as well as the remaining time. Clicking on the menu button opens the traditional embed code and the URL link while hitting the time counter lets you switch between the options mentioned above. Although the video sharing service recently introduced that special feature which enables you to configure the appearance of the embeddable YouTube clips, this one looks pretty different especially with these elements.

The YouTube officials didn't say a word about the new player so it might be only a test as well as one of the interfaces created through the custom player appearance function. In case you never tried this feature, the YouTube custom player gives you the possibility to configure the color theme, the layout and the content appearing in the player from a single screen. After the configuration process is over, press the 'Generate Code' button which creates the embed code, allowing you to publish the player on a website. All you need to do next is to paste the code into you website's or blog's content and the YouTube player should be there.

YouTube's FAQ was not updated with information about this silver player interface and talks about the old and well-known appearance.

"The default embedded video player allows you to view the video you've embedded as well as several related videos. While viewing a video in the embedded player, you can click anywhere within the main body of the player and be redirected to that video's play page on YouTube," it is mentioned in the help section of YouTube.
