For those unaware, people in the Philippines have been feasting on fetal duck eggs (i.e. fertilized duck eggs which are only a few days away from hatching) for quite some time now.

However, it seems that one brave entrepreneur plans on making this dish also available for people living in New York. Moreover, in order to raise some popularity with respect to this delicacy, he even organized a fetal duck egg eating competition in Brooklyn.

Although chef Miguel Trinidad argues that these fertilized duck eggs are “a great source of proteins,” and can even be used as aphrodisiacs as they “give people power,” we believe that it will not be long until some very determined animal right activists voice their complains about both the restaurant, and its owner, trying to get them to stop serving this peculiar dish.
