At 6:55 p.m., a couple appears to be pushed into a van at gunpoint, while walking in Washington Heights.
Two men, one wearing a black mask while another donning a white plastic bag, are caught on camera running to grab the pair, while a navy blue Chrysler minivan follows them with its doors open.
Witnesses even say that there were “suspicious-looking men camped out on the street” before the incident.
However, nobody has reported the couple missing, and police believe that all of this might have been staged.
According to Newsday, NYPD officials are considering the fact that this might be someone's way of celebrating their birthday, but I believe that, if that is the case, we could also be looking at an elaborate prank devised to grab media attention on April 1.
