The Sunnyvale company Yahoo rolled out a new feature which will help the Yahoo Messenger fans add more friends to their contact list. The online invitation system allows any user with a Yahoo account to invite another Internet consumer to join Yahoo Messenger and communicate using the application provided by the giant portal. Basically, it is an online form which requires you to enter your friend's email in order to send the message.

The email can be customized with your personal avatar as well as a personalized message which will be included in the email. In addition, you can choose from up to four predefined emails concerning the free PC calls offered by YM, the games, the file sharing support and the photo sharing function.

"Try out our new online invitation to invite friends to join you on Yahoo! Messenger. All you need is their email address which you can type in or grab from your Yahoo! Address Book which is built right into the page," Sarah Bacon, Product Manager, wrote on the official blog of Yahoo Messenger. "When your friend receives your invitation in their email inbox, all they need to do is click the 'Add Me' link to put you in their Yahoo! Messenger friends list. If they don't have Yahoo! Messenger yet, there's a handy download link in the invite."

This feature can be very useful if you have friends on other instant messaging clients or on social networking websites such as Facebook and you want to communicate with them on Yahoo Messenger. However, please keep in mind that you should send only a single invitation because your message might be flagged as spam in case you abuse the function and send too many emails.

If you want to download the latest version of Yahoo Messenger, you can take it straight from Softpedia using this link.
