It really seems that the guys over at Xtreamer are pretty busy these days, since, after releasing the Xtreamer Ultra HTPC only a couple of days, ago, they're now back with yet another very interesting product, namely the Prodigy Media Player, packing a host of attractive and useful features.

First and foremost, it's quite important to mention the fact that the brand-new player comes equipped with the latest Realtek platform, the RTL Chipset 1185, enabling an even higher level of performance than previous models, as well as 512MB of DDR3 memory.

Of course, the media player is capable of playing the latest and largest movie files, such as 1080p MKV format, but novelties include support for HDDs with storage capacities of up 3TB, an USB 3.0 connector, as well as HD Audio with 7.1 CH Passthrough.

Additional features worth mentioning include the support for a mouse and keyboard, a built-in memory card reader, an advanced search function, as well as a DVD backup feature and enhanced support for multiple file types.

The device also packs a Flash-based GUI, making it easier for users to access the Xtreamer Prodigy's numerous functions, that include, beside movie playback, access to a huge array of online content and services, such as Apple's AirPlay technology, an integrated browser and support for MediaFly, Last.fm, Google Talk, Pandora, Grooveshark, YouTube and Internet radios, among other things.

Of course, in order to access all of these services, users will require an Internet connection, available either via the Gigabit LAN 10/100/1000 Ethernet connector, or via the optional 802.11n Wi-Fi USB antenna.

Unfortunately, no specific pricing details for the Xtreamer media player have been provided thus far (it's rumored to cost around 120 Euro), but we're likely to find out these details as well in about four days' time, when this thing will go official (presumably at CeBIT 2011).
