Xerox' experience in the field of office equipment and peripherals is unquestionable, and for this reason, the launch of any new such item is quite noteworthy, as is the case with the company's latest document scanners, models DocuMate 4799 and DocuMate 4790.

Both new scanners target the busy enterprise environment, and in order to meet the needs of busy offices, the Xerox DocuMate 4799 has been equipped with three advanced sensor systems, including here ltrasonic double feed detection, stapled document detection and intelligent feed control.

With the help of the aforementioned technologies, plus its advanced built-in imaging engine, the scanner ensures users that they'll be able to automatically scan documents of various types and sizes at very high speeds, of up to 100 pages per minute.

Next in line comes the Xerox DocuMate 4790 model, capable of scanning an impressive 10,000 pages per day, at some pretty OK speeds, of up to 90 pages per minute.

The device is quite easy to work with and user-friendly, due especially to the fact that it comes packed with an easy-to-read LCD screen with resolution, color mode, file type, processing and final destination of the scanned document.

It's also important to mention that both models will come bundled with a wide array of software applications designed to enable a higher level of productivity, including here Visioneer OneTouch with Kofax VRS technology, TWAIN, EMC Captiva ISIS and WIA drivers, Nuance OmniPage Pro and Kofax VRS Professional AIPE-EBC, just to name a few.

Given the fact that we're talking about professional products targeting the corporate environment, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the new Xerox document scanners are quite on the expensive side, the DocuMate 4799 selling for $12,995 as we speak, while the DocuMate 4790 has a list price of $5,995 and will be available on March 30, 2011.
