More information is made available

The Microsoft team that is dealing with the new Xbox Live Experience, which is set to debut sometime in November, has offered up details on how the Game Store is set to be changed. The revamp is aimed at making the interface powering the Xbox 360 more familiar and more attractive for casual users.

The current Game Store interface is only there to offer basic information regarding the game you're looking at, such as the name of the game or the piece of content, ESRB rating, price and a short description of what you're about to buy. The new Xbox Live Experience is set to offer up more pieces of information. The development team says that what the game is all about will be revealed through the information in the Game Store. A user will be able to see screenshots of the game, check out various trailers and even read all the quotes on the back of the game box. Basically, the experience will be similar to that in brick and mortar games stores. A user will also be able to see what pieces of download are available for the title he is looking at and he will also have quick access to all the DLC.

A hardcore gamer, who watches news sites for previews and checks out the Internet to get the new trailers and any piece of information available, will not need all the things offered by the new Xbox Live Experience. But a more casual Xbox 360 user will surely find it helpful to see all the information in one place and I wouldn't be surprised if the Microsoft team managed to even out some reviews in the Game Store. All of these, paired up with the reduced price of the Xbox 360 and with the other elements of the update, are said to make the console more attractive as the Christmas shopping period is fast approaching.
