Most of the virus authors have gone on vacation, but there are a few who are still haunting security companies. And the proof fro this is the latest online threat that spreads through the MSN and AOL instant messengers.

The worms spread as messages that contain links; once the links are accessed, the victim's computer is infected with a trojan or another dangerous worm.

One of these is called Kirvo and it spreads through a chat message that comes from one of the contact in the user's list. The message in question contains a link to a web page, which installs a copy of the Kirvo worm on the computer.

Kirvo is programmed to deliver a copy of Spybot, which is a dangerous worm used to exploit the vulnerabilities of a system and to spy on the user.
