tvCompass Inc. announced the availability of tvCompass's Smart Remote wireless handheld device and mobile content and services solution at CES 2007. Playing on the popularity of remote TV controls in the home, the Smart Remote is based on the Microsoft Windows Embedded CE operating system offering simple set up for consumers, with the added sophistication of home connectivity to Windows Vista-based PCs, Microsoft .NET services, the Internet, IP enabled devices and mobile-phone style content and services.

Microsoft Windows Embedded CE, the operating system for pocket PCs, handheld PCs and other such mobile information devices is also finding wider use in a diverse range of devices from industrial terminals to Internet TV and car navigation systems as the market comes to recognize the advanced functionality of this OS. tvCompass is launching its Smart Remote wireless handheld device and click365 mobile content and services network with multiple original equipment manufacturing (OEM) partners at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show.

"In the development of our Smart Remote device, we carefully considered product development efficiency, time-to-market speed, and design flexibility - all advantages of the Microsoft Embedded Windows CE operating system. Our platform is designed to accelerate adoption for our OEM partners and we felt that Windows CE is ideally suited for this type of environment as a highly optimized and flexible platform," said Edward J. Zylka, tvCompass's CEO.

The tvCompass Smart Remote platform is an integrated solution and offers simple to use universal remote control functionality with color LCD display, and WiFi connectivity to receive listings and one-click access to popular content and information.
