New Windows Vista wallpapers are available for download from Microsoft. The fresh Vistas are not a repeat of the excellent collection that shipped included by default in the RTM version of the latest Windows client, nor are they additional Extras for the Windows Vista Ultimate SKU. The images have been delivered via Windows Experience, and are offered courtesy of Microsoft's Brandon LeBlanc. There is a new summer wallpaper up for grabs, along with one put together to emphasize the Certified from Windows Vista logo program and yet another of LeBlanc's works, titled Railroad, shot with a DSLR Canon Digital Rebel XTi.

"A couple of days ago I went outside and took some photos with my Nikon D40 (a Certified for Windows Vista camera) as the weather was very nice for taking some shots. I took a really neat close-up shot of a leaf with the sun shining from behind - highlighting the details of the leaf. I am particularly fond of the shades of blue and green in the photo myself. I've been running it as a wallpaper on my own PCs and thought it would make a great desktop wallpaper for readers here. So I've uploaded the wallpaper up to Windows Live SkyDrive in a variety of resolutions for all to download," LeBlanc stated.

All the wallpapers come in various resolutions designed to fit a variety of desktops, including 1280 x 800, 1280 x 1024, 1600 x 1200, 1650 x 1050 and even 1920 x 1200. One of the disappointing facts about Windows Vista SP1 was that the service pack shipped with no new content in terms of wallpapers, screensavers, audio themes etc. But at the same time, fresh Vistas where indeed offered by Mike Swanson, Microsoft Technical Evangelist with the Developer and Platform Evangelism organization (download here).

And there are always the Windows Vista Starter wallpapers for you to put on your desktop, more photographs from Hamad Darwish, the Ultimate Extras static backgrounds, and the Vistas from Microsoft Singapore.
