Microsoft has updated the Windows Summit 2010 with new content, launching the Software track portion of the site. The Windows Summit 2010 was initially planned as a Redmond-based event designed to attract hardware and software designers, developers, engineers and testers building products in the ecosystem around Windows 7. The software giant changed the original plans for the event and announced that it would be available exclusively online, and has been providing new resources for visitors since the end of May 2010, when the Windows Summit 2010 went live.

The latest update features not only new content for software developers, but also a video of Internet Explorer’s General Manager, Dean Hachamovitch. Of course, there are additional technical tracks available to companies building solutions with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8 at the core.

“Dean is focusing on how to build applications that are easy to use, visually appealing, and offer high performance on Windows 7. Following Dean, you’ll have access to the fantastic Software track sessions such as Designing Energy Efficient Applications and Windows 7 Ribbon: The Next Generation User Experience for Presenting Commands in Windows Applications,” Mark Relph, Sr. director – Developer & Windows Ecosystem, reveals.

Relph underlines that the Summit is simply a part of the greater Microsoft outreach efforts to the ecosystem around Windows. In this regard, the company is making all content available on demand for hardware and software developers. And it appears that the software giant is in no way ready to put a stop to the event.

“Based on the feedback we’ve received from you, the Summit team will extend the Devices Track and launch 17 new sessions on June 30, 2010. Eleven of those sessions are virtual workshops that will walk you through creating Device Stage experiences and will cover tools that simplify implementation of Device Stage for your products,” Relph states.
