This could be the software version that will start rolling out in a few days

Starting this week, owners of smartphones running under the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview platform release will be able to download and install a new flavor of Microsoft’s mobile operating system, namely WP8.1 Update 1.

Microsoft has already confirmed this, while also revealing info on the new features and enhancements that the update will provide users with.

The one thing that hasn’t been unveiled, however, is the build number that Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 (also known as GDR1, or General Distribution Release 1) will feature when released.

However, it appears that this mystery might have been solved, as a new platform iteration has been spotted on WPBench, where it was listed as build 8.10.14147.0.

Apparently, this software version was added over the weekend, and it is the highest platform number to have been spotted until now, which suggests that this might be the actual update that will start arriving on devices later this week, as Nokiapoweruser notes.

Of course, this is only a supposition for the time being, as no official confirmation on the matter has been provided, albeit it has all chances to pan out.

More on the matter will emerge in a matter of days, when Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 starts rolling out to users out there, so keep an eye on this space for updates.
